Education
I am a june 2004 graduate of the Technical University of Cluj Napoca, Faculty of Automation and Computer Science, major in Systems and Computer Science, specialized in Automation and Industrial Computer Science, with a MSc in engineering equivalent diploma.
In April 2008, during my one month training in France, I attended the one week Allen Bradley Ethernet IP, DeviceNet, ControlNet networks training.
Projects
Energom groupe Peintamelec
Between 2007-2009, working for Energom, member of the french group Peintamelec, I had the opportunity to work by different machine standards from companies like Michelin and Renault. During the two years I spent here I had automation projects consisting in:
- PLC programming
- machine startup
- Human Machine Interface (HMI) design
- machine documentation writing
mostly for Michelin tire factories. It was a very good opportunity for me to evolve as an automation engineer, to get in touch with one of the world leaders in tire manufacturing, to follow some strict regulations and successful complete the projects I had.
CBM Electronics projects
After graduation (2004) I started working in a small company, CBM Electronics, specialized in design and production of automation equipment (pressure, temperature and proximity sensors, PLCs, process measurement and control equipment) and automation systems. Here I had the opportunity to improve my knowledge in electronics, PLC design and programming, and automation systems design. I also had the responsibilities of a project manager on some projects.
Here are some of the projects I worked on:
- LED timer for rally competition - project management, customer relations, electronic and visual design, programming, prototype tests

- Work-hours counter for internal combustion engines - visual design, programming, prototype tests

- LED score table for Highschool gym - project management, electronic and visual design, programming tests
- different programmable temperature monitor and control systems - programming, tests - these systems were in different temperature ranges, some of them using 4-20 mA adapters
- different PLC applications for CBM PLC tests (CPU tests, I/O tests)
- three phase current relay with display and memory - project management, design, programming, prototype tests

Graduation project
My first project was a mix between electronics, mechanics and programming, implemented as a 2-axis positioning system with stepper motors, basically a rough computer-controlled CNC. The project consisted in a drilling platform positioned in a XY plane by two stepper motors. To control the two stepper motors and the DC drilling motor I used the computer parallel port. As a interface between the computer and motors I designed electronic drivers, based on multiplexers and transistors, using an external power supply. The commands were given by user through a graphic computer interface designed in Pascal.
